Ueda-san still 'dedicated to the product', says Yoshida.

"So, we're waiting for the right time to re-introduce The Last Guardian in an appropriate way," Yoshida told GamesIndustry.biz. "I can't... Well, the game is in development, and it's well staffed, and Ueda-san is here, working - even though he's not a Sony employee, he's dedicated to the product. But we're not ready to update yet."

Yoshida's comments follow on from an earlier statement in the same interview, where he revealed that Sony's "large teams are shifting, transitioning from PS3 to PS4, and continuing on Vita as well."

As it was announced in 2009 (and has been in development since 2007) you're well within your rights to decide that The Last Guardian is never coming out. It's certainly not heading to PS3 anymore – no one would be brave/daft enough to make that call – meaning there's even more reason for concern. Talking Point: When Will Be the Right Time to Reintroduce The Last Guardian?

Added: 25.09.2013 13:18 | 9 views | 0 comments

Push Square: "Four years. Its been four years since The Last Guardian was officially announced for the PlayStation 3. A leaked video had revealed the project a few weeks earlier, but it wasnt acknowledged by Sony until the platform holders press conference at E3 2009. That early glimpse a four-and-a-half minute trailer remains the most that weve seen of Team ICOs mysterious opus, with the feathery favourite slipping into obscurity over the past couple of years. Creative director Fumito Ueda actually announced his departure from SCE in late 2011, but stated that he would remain committed to the game. That, according to Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida, very much remains the case at the time of writing but will the hotly anticipated adventure ever see the light of day?"
